Overvoltage in Power Section
Description:
  • The energy fed back into the DC bus by the machine mechanics during braking was so high that it could not be dissipated by the supply unit within the feed back time. This caused the DC bus voltage to rise to an impermissible value.
  • No braking resistor connected or connection or cable faulty.
  • F8xxx error at high speeds (field weakening area) on a synchronous motor.
  • Device fault on the supply unit (error in the DC bus voltage measurement)
  • Reduce the feedback power through lower acceleration values. – or – Correct drive design. – or – Ensure that the supply unit has adequate dimensions with regard to braking energy requirements; if the dimensions of the braking resistor are not adequate, use additional braking resistor where necessary.
  • Connect braking resistor or check connection.
  • Check whether the braking resistor value in the DC bus exceeds the maximum permissible value for the motor; reduce the braking resistor value to or below the permissible value if necessary.
  • Replace the power section of the supply unit
